Welcome to Summer 2! We hope you had a wonderful summer holiday and we can't wait to get back to the classroom!

Autumn 1 2 2026
English
In English, we will focusing on the story of The Way Home for Wolf. We will be learning the story and retelling it in our own words.
Maths
In Maths, we will be focusing on place value of numbers. We will be counting and seeing how we can represent the numbers to 100 as well as calculation to 20 and using our number bonds to 10.
Geography
Our History key question is, ‘Why can’t elephants live in Antarctica?’. We will learn the names of the seven continents and five oceans and look in depth at one country from each of the continents.
Science
We will be looking at living things and their habitats. We will be searching for different animals in the school environment as well as looking at habitats around the world.
Art
we will be looking at the local famous artist L.S. Lowry. We will see how he created perspective in his art work and use this to inspire us to create a piece of work incorporating a famous landmark from around the world.
RE
Pupils will study sacred texts, including the narratives of The Good Samaritan and The Lost Sheep, and explore their meanings.
P.S.H.E
Children will recognise, talk about and accept their feelings, both positive and negative as well as how to manage certain emotions. Children will explore thinking positively and calmly, making good decisions and developing resilience.
P.E
We will be learning the skills of attacking and defending with a ball. We will also improve our throwing and catching skills.
Please make sure all children have their correct PE uniform in school. No football shirts are allowed.
We have PE on Wednesday and Thursday.

Please make sure that everything is labelled clearly with their names.
Children with long hair should have it tied up please.
Uniform Reminder
Please make sure that everything is labelled clearly with their names, especially their jumper and their coat as they are the items of clothing most likely to get lost! Thank you.
Homework
We send out all homework on a Wednesday. The children will have a maths book and a comprehension book. Please make sure all their homework is returned for marking by Monday. Please note down the reading your child does at home each day in their diary. This will be checked by the class teacher. Remember that we are aiming for 4 reads a week.
