Welcome to Summer 2! We hope you had a wonderful holiday and we can't wait to get back to the classroom!

Summer 2 2026
English
In English we will continue to practise using capital letters and the correct punctuation correctly. We will also be focusing on improving our writing by using adjectives, adverbs and similes. We will be continuing to learn different spelling rules and using these words in our writing. The genres we will be looking at are information texts and poetry.
Maths
In Maths, we will be exploring the topics; money and time. We will also be studying fractions, identifying equal parts and familiarizing ourselves with halves, thirds and quarters. We will also be embedding our knowledge of the 2, 5, and 10 times tables. Please could you help your child at home to have a quick recall of these facts. We will also be looking at how to measure temperature, length and capacity.
History
Our History key question is, ‘What is a monarch?’ The children will look at the life of Queen Elizabeth II and what the role of a Monarch / the Queen was. They will look at how the Queen’s seventy-year reign was celebrated around the world and the legacy Queen Elizabeth II left behind.
Science
In Science we will be observing different plants and seeing how they grow. We will also see which plants we can eat!

There will be excitement in DT where the children will be designing and making their own chocolate bars! They will test out different flavours and see what combinations they want to put together.
