School Council
The Wilmslow Academy School Council 2024 -25
Here at The Wilmslow Academy, we have a strong pupil voice. Our School Council is well established and the council plays an active part in school life. We have twelve school council members from Year 2 right up to Year 6. The councillors meet regularly to plan events, discuss school issues and share ideas. They also talk with school staff such as Midday supervisor to ensure all children enjoy happy break times.
The council is always active in supporting our classmates in understanding how to stay safe and healthy. Last year the council planned the activities that took place when fundraising for The Guide Dogs for The Blind. They initiated litter picks around school and held a school board games session to encourage everyone to share and build competitive resilience.
.This year our council has already met the PTA to discuss new events and suggest how funds might be spent.
One of their first responsibilities this year was to collect our Tesco grants cheque which is being used to help us buy a new stage.
Along with our House Captains and Vice House Captains, the council attended our local care home. They completed craft activities or games with some of the residents.
